Superbowl Betting Tips & Picks

Superbowl betting tips

On Sunday night we get to witness the annual flagship event in the NFL calendar and indeed in the American Sports Calendar.

Colts rushing game the key

Indianapolis will win the match but not in the way you might think. Peyton Manning is sure to play his part but the tactical approach to beating this  New Orleans outfit is to run the ball consistently. In Joseph Addai and Donald Brown Indy should be capable of running 150 yeards against a New Orleans team that has struggled against any decent running back that they have faced this year. Unlike the farce of the conference final Joseph Addai will not out the football on the ground. Just 4 fumble in his 4 years as a pro is testament to that (that’s as many as peterson gives up in a game these days).

Indianapolis will be keen to keep the offence balanced and keep the saints guessing. New Orleans find it almost impossible to keep out the running backs from close range so there is a fair chance that the first TD will be a run play from the Colts.

Added to the good run game expect to see plenty of catches and short yardage plays from Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie and co. This is the day that will put the argument to bed once and for all; Peyton Manning is a much better quarterback than Tom Brady and quite possibly the best of all time.

Saints passing game – nervy Drew Brees

Drew Brees will come out gunslinging against Indy  but if he turns up with the same nerves that he carried to the conference final then this could be  a rout. The truth of the matter is that the Saints were thoroughly outplayed by the Vikings and saved only by the law of chance.  As far as a spectacle goes this one could be all over after 2.5 quarters.

Colston, Bush, Shockey and Meachem are all potential big play merchants but they will need several 40 plus yards plays in this game if they are to have any real chance against the best team in the NFL. A good start is the key to their chances.

The Who are playing the halftime show so at the Saints fans will have something to look forward to.

Superbowl Betting Tips

Joseph Addai to be named Superbowl MVP @ 20/1 with Totesport.

Donald Brown to score the first touchdown @ 25/1 with Ladbrokes.

Indianalpolis Colts (-5.5) to win @ 10/11 with William Hill.

Italy to beat the handicap is usually Genie’s old reliable bet but this week we are going to steer away from that as they run into Brian O’Driscoll and a rampant Ireland team in Dublin.

England vs Wales

For that reason we are going to look at the match in Twickenham between England and Wales. England have not performed well in the Martin Johnson era and I expect no difference this weekend. The English pack is still formidable but is seemingly in terminal decline. At the back the ever dangerous Armitage poses a threat but otherwise there is not much to give Warren Gatland any sleepless nights.

The Welsh backs may be aging but this could be the year that they roll back the clock and rediscover the magic of a couple of years ago. They will be keen to get off on a good foot A lot of questions have been asked of their star man Shane Williams and this could be his year or redemption. For that reason I am making the following Tips:

Betting Tips

Wales to beat England @ 11/8 with Ladbrokes.

Shane Williams to be tournament top tryscorer @ 10/1 with Bet365

Premier League Football Betting Tips

Genie · January 28, 2010 ·

This weekend sees a lot of tight fixtures and Genie has found value in the most unusual place; at Upton Park. West Ham are an improving unit and, having watched the display against Portsmouth on Tuesday night they really are living up to the ‘United’ part of their name. The players are obviously all playing hard for their manager, Gianfranco Zola, and recent good fortune in the form of business angels Messrs Gold and Sullivan means that this club will be on the rise very shortly.

In recent weeks West Ham have been performing admirably. Recent good home performances against Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth desrved more than the 4 points they got but, as often in betting, you need to look beyond the result and drill down the performance.

The back 4 has become a solid unit with Matthew Upson playing as well as he ever has and ably assisted by Tomkins, Spector and the old warrior Kovac. West Ham fans won’t be looking behind them for very much longer as I fully expect them to pull away from the relegation battle.

This weekend they take on a brutal (in every sense of the word) Blackburn side that have only take 5 points from 11 away games this season. With a style of football befitting a Sam Allardyce team they are at times so ugly that a mother couldn’t love them. Add into the mix the fact that they have sold their best player to West Ham and need I say more. If Benni McCarthy does start then one could do worse than having a punt on him to score first at 9/1 (don’t put your money down until you see the teamsheet).

Carlton Cole is coming back from injury and Benni should serve as an able accomplice along with the very talented Diamanti. Expect a big performance from the Happy Hammers and a comfortable 2-0 win against a toothless Blackburn side.

Betting Tips of the Week

West Ham to win @ 11/10 with Bet365

West Ham to win 2-0 @ 9/1 with Paddy Power

Beat Those Odds

Odds Comparison Guide

The fundamental starting point for any good punter is odds comparison. Genie recommends that you should price the market (or just selection if it’s a big field) up for yourself. Work out what you think the odds should be and see if a bookie will beat those odds. If they can beat the odds that you have priced up, then we have a bet. While it may be the case that betting exchanges more often than not offer the best odds, when commission is factored in this may not be the case. As such it still applies that you should investigate the market and try and beat whatever odds you have been offered on a market.

Odds comparison: A Value Betting Fundamental

Ensuring that you get the best odds available is the fundamental basis on which value betting is based. There are several odds comparison webistes around such as oddschecker.com, beatthoseodds.com (bestbetting.com), easyodds.com among others.

Rest assured that Genie will do the hard work for you and always present his tips along with the best available price.

In order to engineer a profit, rule number 1 is that you must always bet at the best available price by finding the best odds available on the market of choice. Essentially, that will mean trying to beat the odds of your normal bookmaker. This means that you will need to open many bookmaker accounts. Don’t be put off by this because thanks to deals done by Geniebet.com you can get free bets as part of the sign-up offers on some of our partner sites.
